Mose Allison – Your Mind Is On Vacation

Mose Allison Trio live on PBS television show Soundstage. Chicago/ USA (aired December 22, 1975, recorded November 3, 1975 or earlier).
There is just nothing like it elsewhere in the Philippines to work for a living and start a family of your own. With its cool weather, friendly residents, clean environment, scenic mountain views, and pine-scented air, Baguio is not only one of the best places to visit when in the Philippines but also the most suitable city to be a resident of. Dan Pinkerton, an American friend of mine, wrote: “Of all the places I visited in the Philippines, to me, Baguio City is the grandest of all. Maybe it is the Igorot ancestors of years gone by that supplies the everescent glow one feels in this magical city. As a visitor, I cannot compare Baguio with any city I know in the USA. It is a city that is unique and one of its kind. I love Baguio and its godsend people.”

@abombinreverse … I was quoting Keith Moon from the Who. When Pete Townshend would introduce “Young Man Blues” Keith would chirp in with that witty comment.
@abombinreverse … sage isn’t that a spice for chicken
I love this goddamn song
Mose is STILL rocking
I saw Mose perform in an interesting setting -on a barge floating on Seattle’s Lake Union. The barge was anchored about 50 feet off The shore of Gasworks Park where an appreciative crowd was gathered. It was a fun, sunny summer day – August, 1982.
The writer of Parchman Farm
YMS is my favorite son of his.
Pete Townshend made som fascinatin comments, on the google video, “They Sold Their Souls For rock & roll” part 4
If you like him see also Ben Sidran
Terrible.
For me…the Bob Dylan of Jazz!
Pete Townshend refered to Mose Allison as “a Jazz Sage”
Happy Birthday Mose!
Hey, That’s Jack Hannah On Bass and Jerry Granelli on Drums! Awesome!!!!!!!!
I am just so happy to see Mose again! I too preferred the slower version. He is so great in person, wish I could have been there. Saw him at Shelly’s Manne Hole in Hollywood decades ago. He still makes my heart flutter.
I hate to be the heretic, here, but I really liked the slower, blues swing version of this tune that was on his early albums. This feel is more in the spirit of “Your Molecular Structure.”
Of course, Mose is a true original and can do no wrong i my book.
Great music!
This man radiates cool.
When I saw him in 1975, I was astonished to discover that he was white. Halsted Street, Chicago. Can’t remember the bar. I was too young, but with a lot of older ppl so they didn’t card me.
Mose’ contrapuntal action is da bomb. dayyumm. right on… Yo Cptn Jos, thank you for posting.
