Acker used Maya 1.55.5, Photoshop for the textures, After Effects for compositing, and Premiere for editing. Summary; 9 is a sentient rag doll who appears to be the last of his kind, living in the ruins of a decaying parallel world, and is hunted relentlessly by a twisted mechanical beast that has killed eight of his rag doll kindred by stealing their souls with a canister-like talisman. 9 was formerly accompanied by his friend and mentor, the one-eyed 5, with whom he scavenged the ruins of their world in search of tools that would help them survive. However, the monster attacked 5 and stole his soul with its talisman, though 9 narrowly escaped with a similar, glowing talisman given to him by 5. In an attempt to destroy the monster, 9 prepares a trap and lures it into an old building where it is briefly subdued, allowing 9 to steal its talisman. The monster breaks free and chases 9 through the building, cornering him on a wooden plank elevated high above the floor. Just as the monster crawls along the unstable plank and approaches him, 9 leaps to safety and knocks the plank down. The monster plummets to the …

[Short Version: Song Only - a remix of the tune can be found here tinyurl.com ] On June 14th, 2009 – Northwest Airlines baggage handlers damaged Bing’s Folkcraft double-neck mountain dulcimer on flight 2363 from Detroit, MI to Ft. Wayne, IN. Many people requested that Bing write a song about the situation, much like Tom Paxton did in his tune “Thank You Republic Airlines.” When Dave Carroll released the video for “United Breaks Guitars”, Bing saw an opportunity for even more awareness in the area of baggage handling guidelines for airlines, not to mention perhaps an opportunity to have Northwest finally hear his story out and pay for the damages inflicted by their ground crew. “Only A Northwest Song” was written and recorded on Friday, July 10th with the video following later that night.

That was spectacular…
so good!!
best short ive ever seen
Ah, alright.
@MoaiMaea well, its full. But there is another movie based on this, which is 75 minutes long.
I thought that IS the full movie …
@MoaiMaea watch the full movie to find it out =)
Amazing.
But story-wise, what’s the point of releasing their souls?
I love how the kept a lot of little bits for the 2009 version. Like the lightbulb, and 9 disappearing all ninja-like after the Beast looks away.
love it!
Buck the Illuminati agenda, grow a herb/veg garden
personally i think the short is 1000000000000000% better than the film (: but thats me
the short film compared to the moie is pretty damn awesome. it sums up the plot of the movie better thn the movie itself, short to the point, but still enouh room for the imagination. shane cker is genious.
nicely done!
THis is absolutely perfect ! O.o Congratulations !
the movie is shiet, waste of time. great graphics but the worst story ever, makes no God damn sense at all. 2 thumbs down!!!!
@emilyjackson854 dumbshit, this movie is a short film that everyone can watch, why would i go to a retarded site wich i probably have to pay for, get a life instead of spamming on video’s

thats not the only thing i liked more in the short animation ^^
Excelente!!!!!!!
i thought the 9 film was pretty good.
Film is good, but the music is an ultimate masterpiece. Does anybody know what’s the name of a credits track? or tell where can I find it? It doesn’t appear in full movie.
I thought this was fantastic. The feature film is a load of crap. Poor pacing for a story told much better when some of it is left to your imagination instead of dragged out.
Whoa – very good tune. Sad to hear that baggage gorillas still live to “care less.” Most baggage is pretty good and a baggage handler has to intentionally do some damage for it to occur. Too bad those goons are simply tossed in the clink. They must have pretty good union protection that cares nothing for passengers.
When I think of my beloved dulcimers being treated like this…..Ooooo, I’m gonna have to go by car if I travel with them, I see. MY car.
@Salindil We’ll be up there in June! Hoping to jam on Broadway again somewhere.
Sorry to hear about the dulcimer, Bing, you and J should come up the Nash Vegas some time.
Another pithy, humorous strike back at the scornful and utterly disinterested state of affairs prevailing toward customers and their things at too many airlines
Ever watched baggage handlers load a plane? Its the same the world over. They’re at the bottom of the food chain and they take it out on the luggage.
Good song. I like the singing style on this.
Ouch – the Philistines!
A very good song…that is what makes these protests so successful. And that is what is present here. Thanks.
lol this is great
Hahaaahahaa that would be great!
All I can say is well done. BMI and Air Canada broke two seperate bags. And they did not want to hear about it. Well done!
I don’t expect to get off the plane with broken bones, bruises or a blood nose so why do some people seem to think it is OK for their luggage to get smashed up?
I don’t understand why folks have to post negative comments. Bing wasn’t trying to copy or outdo anyone.. just having some fun with a bad experience that got the airlines attn. Nice job Bing!
haha, in reply to Jimmys request we made our most scandalous vid yet
This is really giving me nightmares!!!
Now if we could only put our politicians in a box and send air freight. Bet new laws would be put in place fast on handling cargo.
This November I’m going to be flying NorthWest, and plan to handcuff myself to my dulcimer!
I will be flying to Orlando, FL… Do you know of anyone I could jam with?
Good job. Nice song. Austrian air made me check a computer case because it had two notebook computers in it. Fortunately I took out the Apple MacBook Pro because the older HP that was left in got its screen mangled. Thanks for writing this song for all of us.
Nice try but the band wagon left the station the day Dave Carroll released his video on YouTube.
give me a break copy cat to the max gezzz
I hate when people have overweight baggage, so of course they get throwed around…
I like it BUT I think I like Tom Paxton’s song a litle better. My 2 cents only. Not ment as any kind of put down.
are you putting that in the next book Bing, I’ll be looking for it there
Heck, this is what’s needed.
The more of this kind of stuff gets out there, the more these guys might finally have to sit-up and take notice that they need to take more care of the property of passengers who pay their damned wages.
Go it you guys!
[and sorry about the dulcimer]
