As we areheading into the heart of winter,Serenity Vacationsthought you might find a guide to the season’s hotspot vacation destinations useful.  For your ease, we have put them into groups for cold climate destinations and warm climate spots. 

 

Getting’ Your Chill On!

 

1.    Alaska– Alaska offers something for the whole family with activities ranging from dog sledding to viewing the Northern Lights.  While Alaska is known as a cold vacation destination, if you take a few basic precautions you will find that Alaska offers numerous activities and entertainment options great for just about anyone.

 

2.    Lake Tahoe – For years now, Lake Tahoe has been considered one of the most famous winter holiday destinations in the United States.  Lake Tahoe is a winter wonderland with its average annual snowfall of 360 inches and is sure to be a lot of fun and excitement for the whole family.

 

3.    New England – As one of the most historic areas in the United States, travelers to New England can enjoy a large number of historic sites throughout the area to include ones in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.  For ski enthusiasts Main and Massachusetts offer some of the most beautiful resorts in the USA and New Hampshire is home to the amazing White Mountain Ski Area.

 

4.    Wisconsin Dells – A very small northern town, the Wisconsin Dells offers some of the best family oriented vacation packages for winter time in the United States.  The Great Wolf Lodge is but one example being home to the largest indoor water park in the USA.  Vacationing in the Wisconsin Dells offers travelers the best of both worlds as they can enjoy all the offerings of winter time outside, while enjoying a warm summer day indoors at a water park.

 

5.    Yellowstone – Another very famous winter travel location, Yellowstone National Park offers a variety of things from educational programs to wonderful lodging and services that you will find are ideal for the entire family.

 

Go for the Heat!

 

Austin, Texas – A wonderful southern city, Austin offers warm days and cool nights in January.  The city offers a rich mixture of architecture, hiking, history, museum and shopping and is particularly known for its exciting night life!

 

Las Vegas– For those who love both sun and fun, Las Vegas is the destination choice for many.  With the bright lights and all night fun at the strip, great entertainment choices, shows, shopping, fine cuisine and gambling, Las Vegas is just about as much fun as any place could be – and 24 hours a day!

 

Myrtle Beach–One of the best places to vacation for those wanting to avoid cold wintertime is South Carolina’s Myrtle Beach.  Prices are very reasonable, and the locals are extremely friendly.  Myrtle Beach is known for its “Southern Hospitality” and visitors will find everyone is treated there like family.

 

Orlando – You need look no further than Orlando if being hot is your vacation goal this winter.  Orlando offers great winter discounts on a wide variety of attractions to include Walt Disney.  The area also offers great beaches, a  booming nightlife, exotic restaurants and much much more.

 

Virginia Beach–With its golden sand beaches and wonderful boardwalk, Virginia Beach is great fun for the entire family.  Part of the fun is arriving to Virginia Beach as to reach it you have to first travel a series of bridges and tunnels.   But do not worry – there are many wonderful shops along the way!
