Who shall I hire a car from at Sanford Airport Florida?
Question by debs: Who shall I hire a car from at Sanford Airport Florida?
My family and I are going to Florida in August, landing at Sanford Airport. I want to hire a car but am unsure which one to go for. The price isn’t the main issue, stress limition is probably top of the list with the least queuing and ease of transaction. Do off-airport companies bring the car to you? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Everytime we have been to Florida, we’ve flown into Sanford too, when we booked, the travel company use the same company and so we always go with them. It is called ALAMO. what happens when we fly in from UK is we get off plane, get through immigration, etc and you leave terminal with everyone else. there is a long glass building next to the huge car park and that’s where Dollar, avis, etc are too, so once you have gone to your chosen car company, you will be taken out to a specific car, with Alamo, we are always given the choice to upgrade once there for a small fee, we have 2 young daughters and a few times, the guy actually has pointed to a few cars and let our girls pick what car they wanted, however in normal circumstances, you will be shown to a car, given maps and directions on how to use the car, etc. big advice for you though, take the extra insurance. the second time we went, we were too early to pick up our villa keys and so drove to wallmart and as we drove out of the car park my husband put on his brakes because someone had pulled out in fromt of him and the girl behind wasn’t watching our car but was lighting a cigarette instead and smashed right into our rear. so after a brief exchange of details, etc we drove straight back to the airport and they had no qualms about changing our car due to us having the extra insurance, I can only imagine how hard it would have been or expensive it would have been to start our holiday like that.
I’d go online and see if you can book direct with them. enjoy your time in Florida.
